Repertoire for Fingerstyle Blues

Freight and Salvage, 2020 Addison St., Berkeley, California

Six Wednesdays 7-8:15, start September 11 This class is intended as a sequel to my class “Introduction to Fingerstyle Blues.” We will take the techniques we learned from the previous class (alternating bass and monotonic bass) and apply them to several early blues songs from players like Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy, John Fahey, Robert Johnson and Blind Blake. Songs will include: “From Four Until Late,”  “Satisfied and Tickled, Too," “Poor Boy Long Ways from Home,” and several others. You don’t need to have taken the “Introduction…” class to take this one, but you should be familiar with and comfortable playing alternating and monotonic bass patterns.
