What You Should Expect at Your First Lesson
The question I get asked most often is "What should I bring to the first lesson?" Bring your guitar. That's it. I will provide you with music and TAB and send you mp3 files of the audio via e-mail.
The Best Way To Improve
What is the best way to improve your playing? Lessons and feedback help a lot. However, there are some basic things that you can work on every day. Try to practice every day. Short amounts of practice done daily are more effective than a lot of practice on one day.
Most of my students have a weekly time slot. To set up a weekly time slot you need to Contact Me.
If you are just beginning to play, then setting up a single lesson could be the best way to get started, but anyone can take random lessons. This may be the best fit if you don't have enough time to commit to weekly lessons or if you have just a few questions you want answered, if you aren’t sure if you are ready for weekly lessons, or you just want to see if I’m the right teacher for you. .
My blues and fingerstyle classes are mostly taught at the Freight and Salvage, but I sometimes teach classes at my studio -- see the schedule for me info. Class topics include: Slide Guitar, Fingerrstyle Blues, Blues in Open Tunings, Jamming the Blues, Grooving the Blues, The Guitar of Robert Johnson, The Guitar of Big Bill Broonzy and others.
You must give 48 hours advanced notice for cancellation and makeups. Less notice time and I'm sorry , but you have to pay for the lesson.
